Just finished editing this video.  A relaxing weekend and great memories with some friends at the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado.

I just finished editing this video, which captures probably the best morning of my entire life.  All the video was shot while hiking Grays (14,270 ft) & Torreys (14,267 ft) peaks in Colorado.  This area is insanely beautiful.

I took the photos for this video on a day trip to Ft. Collins, Colorado to tour New Belgium Brewery, Odell Brewery, and Coopersmith’s Pub. Please visit these amazing places if you have a chance.

The word ‘adventure’ has gotten overused. For me, adventure is when everything goes wrong. That’s when the adventure starts.

Music: “Little Hands” by Braids

A short stop-motion video I whipped together of my adventure rafting on the Arkansas river in Canon City, Colorado. I took 800 photos and squeezed them together to make this 2 minute video.

Today was a good day for 2 reasons:

  • Well, seriously every day working at Compassion International is great.
  • Death Cab for Cutie’s new album “Codes and Keys” released today.

The lyrics in their first single “You are a Tourist” definitely speak to me.  This little tune here is my sun shining, windows down, cruisin’ around town, summer jam.

When there’s a burning in your heart

An endless yearning in your heart

Build it bigger than the sun

Let it grow, Let it grow

When there’s a burning in your heart

Don’t be alarmed

When there’s a doubt within your mind

‘Cause you’re thinking all the time

Framing rights into wrongs

Move along, Move along

When there’s a doubt within your mind

When there’s a burning in your heart

And you think it’ll burst apart

Oh there’s nothing to fear

Save the tears, Save the tears

When there’s a burning in your heart

And if you feel just like a tourist in the city you were born then it’s time to go

And define your destination: there’s so many different places to call home

‘Cause when you find yourself the villain in the story you have written then it’s plain to see

That sometimes the best intentions are in need of redemption

Would you agree?

If so, please show me

Last night I arrived in Colorado Springs for the summer and I’m doing some major exploring until I start my internship tomorrow.  This morning I went on hands-down the best run of my entire life on the Pikes Peak trailhead.  While gasping for air in the high elevation, lungs & legs burning, I still could do nothing but smile because of the insanely beautiful views I was experiencing.  Here are a few photos I took of my playground for the summer.  Wish you were here.

A little video I made on iMovie about Beza Threads at Drake University. We sold over 100 scarves, which means well over $2000 dollars towards getting child slaves off the streets in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Learn more about Beza Threads and their story here.
